Northern view: downtown Kodiak with its authentic restaurants, two museums, gift shops, grocery store, car agency, filling station, and marine supply and outfitting stores
Northeastern view: the Russian Orthodox Church seminary and bridge that crosses the boat channel 105 feet above the water to Near Island, the home of St. Herman Harbor, our two fish tech laboratories, and the float plane docks
Eastern view: the harbor breakwater jetty and the harbor channel with thousands of sea birds, several friendly sea lions and three eagles that can be spotted regularly sitting on the jetty patiently waiting for a noon snack of fish
Southern and Western views: the row of canneries trailing off down the shoreline. Beyond them a range of snow capped mountains and day or night activity from Kodiak’s 750 fishing boats either headed out to the fishing grounds or returning with a load of fish for the canneries
Nordic Dancer Bed and Breakfast is located at the West entrance to the city of Kodiak. It is strategically positioned on a hill overlooking a fleet of more than one hundred commercial fishing boats of St. Paul Harbor as well as the entire bay. The house has arguably the best view in town and is less than three hundred feet from the ocean water and a mere five minute walk to the nearest charter boat.
